Vancouver Fashion Week Spring Summer 2017

I was so excited to spend three days at Vancouver Fashion week! While I wasn’t there as a photographer, I couldn’t help bring my Sony NEX7 along with me… It fits so nicely in my purse and hardly weights anything. I tried to get some unique angles, and being in the front row helped with that. My favourite designers were the local Vancouver ones, I loved Vestige Stories collection – I shot a layout for Create Magazine featuring some of her beautiful clothes earlier this year and fell in love with the textures and design. Another favourite designer was Lara Ireland, a Sydney, Australia, Based designer who uses recycled materials (garbage bags for this shoot) as the material base for her clothing. As a previous-hippie myself who used to only buy recycle clothing and materials, I loved the concept behind Lara Irelands clothing line!

My date for the shows was Lorna and fellow instagrammer and fashion blogger Kamal from Ardently Admire.
Since this was my first real fashion show, I have some tips below for those who have never been before:
1. If you’re dressed cool, people will ask you throughout the night who you’re wearing. If you’re wearing Forever21, lie and say it’s vintage.
2. If you look cool and seats open in the front row, you will get beckoned down to sit with the buyers.
3. Dress cool
4. If you leave your seat, you will not get it back. Always have you or your friend saving your seat if you must bathroom break. Be warned though – even though your friend is saving the seat, someone else might be rude and sit there. It’s seriously cutthroat.
5. It’s funner if you’re slightly tipsy/buzzed. But don’t get drunk, or else you will start laughing hysterically at some of the unique outfits and nipple slips, a faux-pas at fashion shows.
