Life in the Caribbean – our first winter together in St Maarten

Wow! What a different world down here in the Caribbean! I have fallen in love with this beautiful island, there is not an inch on the island that isn’t full of culture, friendly people and beautiful scenery. It is so wonderful to be surrounded by this type of beauty every day. I can’t believe how hilly the island is, its not your typical flat beach paradise. We live on the side of a mountain, about halfway up…sometime the clouds come down and we can see rainbows underneath us. Every morning I wake up to an ocean view on one side, and a beautiful valley view on the other. It is so inspiring and amazing to see this every day.

Coming from Canada, Jesse and I are surprised and delighted by the amount of lizards/geckos/iguanas. We have a few videos of us trying to get rid of them, here is a video of them right outside our door
