Roop and Andrew got married at the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish, BC. The weather kept everyone on their toes all day but finally the rain cleared for a quick outdoor ceremony on top of the mountain. The following day Roop and Andrew had their wedding reception in Surrey at the Dhiwali Banquet Hall. Photos can be found here! Roop and Andrew first met at the same program at school. Their love grew slow, they became friends first and eventually found themselves spending all of their free time together. Andrew fell for Roop quickly, and would often detour 25 minutes on his commute so they would be on the same bus together for 10 minutes. Eventually one day at the beach, long after Andrew admitted that just maybe he liked her, she looked up and said “yeah, well, what if I like you too?”

Andrew: If she brings this up in the future, I’ll deny it, but she’s probably the funniest person I’ve met. Whether she’s walking around in a dinosaur robe and fluffy pink slippers or laughing until she snorts, she’s always got some witty quip to say. One of her quirky traits that’s hard to explain is that when she’s wearing glasses, after a particularly dry comment, she’ll give me this “Mean Girls” movie look of pure hilarious disdain, and simultaneously take her index finger to push up on the middle of the bridge of her glasses like the dorkiest guy ever.
Roop: My favourite thing about Andrew is his sense of humour, he always finds a way to make me laugh. He does lots of little things for me all the time. He always makes sure I get the biggest piece of dessert. He also always makes sure I get the better seat at a restaurant, and he also leaves little notes for me to find when I’m not home. He’s kind, genuine, and thoughtful. I was attracted to how smart and funny he was and how much value he placed on our relationship. I knew he was the one when one day I was watching him make us dinner and he was dancing around as he did it and it hit me that he was it.
