St Maarten Family Session on Mullet Bay Beach

I’m posting this a year later from Vancouver and realized I didn’t blog most of my St Maarten sessions I did my last year, we were so busy with life and moving back to Canada that blogging got lost in the mix.

This beautiful family took a trip to St Maarten together and wanted a family photoshoot on the beach. I love shooting in Mullet Bay Beach, it’s west facing and beautiful to shoot at during sunset. This awesome family came prepared in lovely matching nautical outfits… everyone was a joy to shoot, and the kids were so much fun! Jesse was assisting me with this shoot, he was holding lighting, accessories and helping the get the kids laughing!

Mullet Bay Beach is one of my favourite beaches… I do so many shoots there.!  Nestled in the middle of the golf course, its long with palm trees and has noisy and quiet areas. At the south end it’s busy with lots of vendors, beach umbrellas, chairs drinks and lola’s, and the north end is largely uninhibited. Writing this now, I miss the days Jesse and I would bring our own chairs and umbrellas and set up for a few hours, watching the crazy people surf the mega waves. This beach differs so much from the beach at Grand Case and the French side… which are always calm and smooth. The beaches on the south and east side of the island are full of adventures, waves and surfers.
